- Flava Flav was my favorite.....then Too Big MC. There is no NEED for hype men, but if you have one, you better have your game tight cuz it might sound corny.......

- you have VIN-ROCK from Naughty By Nature who goes back & forth from hype man to mc (although not the greatest mc) & you have SPLIFF STARR who is basically the same as VIN-ROCK--both are marginal mc's at best so they pull double duty as hype men that's no slight to them but it is what it is but they are good as hype men in my opinion the hype man has to have talent & most important an outgoing personality---he is the mc before the emcee getting the crowd hype for the emcee they should co-exist as 1 unit on stage bouncing back & forth with the audience & each other--now days most RAPPERS don't have hype men but just the opposite---pale shadows of themselves who just repeat the RAPPERS rhymes or drops---this is because the main RAPPER has NO SKILLS AT PERFORMING & prowl the stage back & forth like a cage tiger with no audience interaction skills to speak of so they need 1,2 + people on stage with them to make it appear as they are putting on a show

- Yeah, the Hype man isn't what he used to be. I remember when you didn't even have to speak to be a hype man. Remember Scoob and Scrap Lover? They pumped the crowd up by dancing. Some people let the DJ be the hype man. Nowadays, the hype man supplements the rhyme for mc's with no breath control. And mostly they just scream the lyrics and mess up the song.
